Privacy & enquiries

Who is responsible
I’m Dorian Spackman, an independent advisor based in Cornwall, United Kingdom. I am the data controller for personal information I receive through dorianspackman.com. This website is operated by me personally, not by Colateral or a separate limited company.
For questions or requests about your information, email dorian_spackman@hotmail.com.
What information is collected
If you contact me through the form, I receive your name, email address, your company or website if supplied, and your message. I also receive information you provide in any follow-up correspondence.
The providers that deliver the website and form may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, request times and referring page to operate their services and detect abuse. Please do not send sensitive personal information through the contact form.
How and why I use it
I use your information to respond to your enquiry, understand the support you are looking for, discuss a possible engagement, and keep relevant correspondence. Technical information may be used to maintain the security of the website and filter spam.
For general business enquiries, my lawful basis is legitimate interests: communicating with people who ask about my work and managing those enquiries. Where you ask me to take steps towards a contract with you personally, the lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims may also justify keeping particular records.
Submitting the form does not subscribe you to a newsletter or marketing list. There are no automated decisions about whether to offer you advisory services.
Who receives the information
The form is handled by Formspree, which processes submissions and delivers notifications to my Microsoft Outlook/Hotmail inbox. Microsoft processes email and related information under its privacy statement. The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites using Cloudflare infrastructure; these providers may process technical request and security information.
I do not sell your enquiry information. Providers may use subprocessors to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
International processing
These services operate internationally. Formspree states that its service uses infrastructure in the United States, so your submission may be processed outside the UK. Provider privacy information explains their processing locations and arrangements for international transfers. You can contact me for further information about the providers and transfer arrangements applicable to your enquiry.
How long information is kept
I retain enquiry correspondence for as long as it is reasonably needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting discussions. The relevant factors are whether discussions are still active, whether a working relationship develops, and whether records are needed for legal, accounting or dispute purposes. When the information is no longer needed for these purposes, it should be deleted.
Copies in a form-service archive, email inbox and provider backups may have different retention periods. The end of Formspree’s submission-history window does not automatically delete the copy delivered to my inbox.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request a portable copy where the right applies. These rights have limits; some records may need to be retained for legal reasons. Contact me at the email above to make a request.
If you have concerns, please contact me so I can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Cookies and website changes
I have not added advertising trackers, visitor analytics scripts or embedded social-media feeds to this site. Hosting and security providers may use technical mechanisms needed to deliver and protect their services. Links to external websites are governed by those websites’ own privacy information.
I will update this notice if the way I handle enquiries or operate the website changes.
